The Greater Pottstown Foundation is a Pennsylvania Not-for-profit Corporation that has received Federal 501c3 tax-exempt status, as a charitable private foundation. The foundation was founded in 1989 with the stated goal of raising funds to be distributed for the purpose of improvement of the moral, mental, social and physical well-being of the inhabitants of the Greater Pottstown Area including nearby communities in Montgomery, Chester, and Berks Counties.  The Foundation office is located within the Borough of Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

The GPF Board understands that the key to the long term well-being of any community is the quality of education afforded to its children.  Therefore, for many years, the Foundation has awarded a number of college scholarships in the Greater Pottstown area.  We have also supported other educational programs, as well as other causes consistent with the Foundation’s bylaws and objectives. The principal focus of the organization is set forth in this web site.

The Foundation is administered by a Board of seven volunteer members, with varying backgrounds, from the Greater Pottstown Community.  The Board is chaired by Paul A. Prince who is a Pennsylvania attorney with an active practice in Pottstown.  We employ two part time employees, and the volunteer Board of Directors provide all labors not performed by employees.  This allows us to maintain an extremely low expense to income ratio.
